Šibenik Riviera is situated in the area of middle Dalmatia. Amazing beauty of its numerous landscapes, picturesque places, as well as richness of cultural and historical monuments make the Riviera a true jewel of tourist offer.
Within its area is the Krka River with its short stream of 72 km, wriggling through deep canyons towards the sea and creating numerous waterfalls, cascades and lakes.
In addition to numerous small places, the national parks of Krka and Kornati adorn this area with special natural beauties and it can be easily noticed that the variety of this area has attracted men since ancient times, which is confirmed by preserved remains on the entire Riviera, ranging from prehistoric buildings and Roman settlements to medieval and renaissance fortresses and buildings.
Small towns of Šibenik Riviera are: Pirovac, Tisno, Tribunj, Vodice, Srima, Brodarica, Žaborić, Grebaštica, Šparadići, Primošten and Rogoznica.
Šibenik islands are special oases of repose and original beauty. Their distinct ambient features, spatial autonomy and specificity, away from any crowds and hectic pace of cities, are ideal for relaxation, recreation in natural environment enriched with scents of Mediterranean plants and sea.
In addition to such distinct features of these islands, there are also numerous possibilities of doing sport fishing, water sports, diving and, of course, swimming in a crystal clear se. Šibenik Archipelago includes 249 islands, small islands and cliffs above the sea.

National Park Krka
The 75 km long Krka River was classified as national park 1985. It attracts with extraordinary beauty of its large canyon and cascade stream, with beauty of its source, magnificent travertine and beeches over which water pours down in rich waterfalls, flow lakes, green valleys and areas covered with forest. Men contributed to Krka's natural value by their activities in the past in that they built sacral monuments and religious centres, defensive facilities and water energy exploitation facilities, leaving in their surroundings the monuments of historical, cultural and ethnographic value.
In addition to numerous smaller cascades, Krka has eight large waterfalls among which two most beautiful ones distinguish themselves - waterfalls Roški slap and Skradinski buk, both of which are within Krka National Park. With its beauty and distinct features Roški slap and Skradinski buk are well-known and attractive excursion sites, as magnificent waterfalls, wonderful landscape and other natural phenomena attract a multitude of tourists and nature lovers. |
National Park Kornati
Kornati Archipelago is rich and unique in its beauty. These islands unite the magnitude and true force of nature. Nowhere are there so many cliffs, capes, islands and small islands, bays, and coves as on Kornati. Kornati have always been the same, but at the same time very different during various periods of day and year.
Kornati islands are parallel with continental coast. The archipelago stretches on around 300km2 and has 148 islands of 62km2 surface.
Since 1980 Kornati National Park has been protecting the most beautiful place of Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea against man, but for all mankind. The islands and the sea are protected, as well as entire maritime and continental flora and fauna. |
